Sam Kibler, bassist and composer
Prophecy basses are the main axes of the Osmosis bassist. Kibler has played a Prophecy 3 for years, but a bass that Sam has used much more recently is a custom fretless Prophecy 2.
Osmosis performs a number of the bassist's compositions. For You, Latina Molina, and Black Elijah, from the album Music, all came from Mr. Kibler. On Perspectives, Sam's writing is displayed on Te Digo Lo Que Digo, Los Mosis, and Hangin' with Lucie.
Jaco Pastorius is the bassist that Kibler holds in his highest regard, with other favorites including Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten, and Gary Willis. But his earliest musical influence was Jimi Hendrix.
Sam has performed extensively with a number of blues bands in the area -- most notably with Fat City Blues. Currently, Kibler also performs on occasion at the Hudson Community Chapel.
